Operations Research (OR) is a multi-disciplinary applied science utilizing optimization, statistics, machine learning and probability. The PhD program in the IEOR Department of Columbia University is designed to help students study fundamental problems in Operations Research, and contribute to its theory and practice, and therefore, advancing the frontiers of our scientific knowledge and making a positive impact in society.
